1. The promoter

2. Who can enter

Entry is open to Victorian residents aged 18 and over. Employees of Cassette Bar, their immediate families, and anyone involved in running this promotion can't enter.
 

3. How to enter

Complete the entry form at https://www.cassetterichmond.com.au/christmas-competition
One entry per person. Entry is free. Entries that are incomplete, duplicated or automated won't be counted.
 

4. When it runs

Entries open 6pm Monday 26 October 2026 and close 11.59pm Sunday 15 November 2026, Melbourne time.
 

5. The prize

One prize, consisting of:

• Exclusive use of a space at Cassette Bar for the winner and their guests, for a four hour period on one Wednesday evening

• A $500 bar tab for that event

Total prize value is $500. No hire fee or minimum spend applies.
 

6. How the space works

The space provided depends on the final confirmed number of guests:

• 30 or more guests — exclusive use of the whole venue for the four hour period

• Fewer than 30 guests — a reserved section of the venue for the group's exclusive use, with the rest of the bar open to the public.

Cassette determines which applies, based on the final numbers confirmed under clause 8. Where the reserved section of the venue is provided, guests are welcome to stay until close at the end of the four hour period.

7. Timing

The event runs for four hours on the chosen Wednesday. The start time is agreed with Cassette and must be between 5pm and 7pm. The venue closes at 11pm. Access for any setup is available 30 minutes before the agreed start time, and all guests and belongings must be out by 11.30pm.

8. Guests and numbers

Maximum 50 guests. All guests must be 18 or over and ID will be checked at the door.

The winner must confirm their final guest number with Cassette at least seven days before the event. Cassette arranges the space, staffing and stock on those numbers, and the number can't be increased inside seven days.

9. Choosing the date

The winner picks a Wednesday date before the expiration date, subject to availability. Cassette will confirm the prize in writing within 7 days of the draw, and the event must take place by 31 March 2027. The prize can't be used on any other date after expiry date, or on any other day of the week. 

10. What the bar tab covers

The $500 tab covers wine, tap beer, basic spirits and Baxter vodka cans. It doesn't cover shots, doubles or premium spirits. Anything beyond $500 is paid for on the night. The tab can't be exchanged for cash, and any unused balance isn't refunded or carried over.

11. What isn't included

Food isn't provided. Guests are welcome to bring their own catering, which must arrive ready to serve. There are no kitchen facilities. Cool room storage is available for cakes and cold items if arranged in advance.

Music control, projector access and decorations are available only where the whole venue is provided under clause 6, and must be arranged and approved with Cassette in advance. A DJ isn't included.

No outside alcohol is permitted at any time.

12. If the event doesn't go ahead

If the winner cancels, doesn't confirm a date under clause 9, or doesn't attend, the prize is forfeited and no alternative or compensation is offered.

If Cassette can't host the event for reasons outside its control, Cassette will offer an alternative date of equal value.

13. The draw

The draw takes place on Monday 16 November 2026. The winner is drawn at random, and every valid entry has an equal chance. You don't need to be there.

14. Telling the winner

The winner will be notified in writing by email within two business days of the draw.

15. Publishing the winner

The winner's first name and the name of their workplace or occasion will be published on Cassette Bar's Instagram and website from Monday 16 November 2026, and will stay online for at least 28 days.

16. If we can't reach the winner

If the winner hasn't responded within 14 days of being notified, Cassette may draw a replacement winner from the remaining valid entries. The replacement draw will be held on Monday 7 December 2026, and the same notification and publication terms apply.

17. The prize isn't transferable

The prize is awarded to the entrant named on the winning entry and can't be transferred, sold or exchanged for cash.

18. What we do with your details

The details you give us are used to run this promotion, to contact you about the result, and to contact you about functions, events, special offers and group bookings at Cassette Bar. We won't use them for anything else, and we won't sell or pass them to anyone outside Cassette Bar.

Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing manager@cassette.bar.

19. Drinking responsibly

Cassette's responsible service obligations apply at all times and staff may refuse service to any guest or party. The tab will be closed if it needs to be, and the remaining balance isn't refundable in that case. Nothing from the tab can be taken away.

Cassette may end the event for serious misconduct or behaviour that can't be managed, and no refund or alternative is offered in that case.

20. General

Cassette Bar may cancel, change or suspend this promotion if something outside our control makes it necessary, subject to any directions from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission. Cassette's decisions on the conduct of the promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into. This promotion is governed by the laws of Victoria.

No permit is required for this promotion under Victorian law.
